Social Service Project Manager, Family Service (at the rank of Assistant Registrar/Administrative Assistant I/II)

Applications are invited for appointment as Social Service Project Manager, Family Services (at the rank of Assistant Registrar/Administrative Assistant I/II (AR/AAI/II)) in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

 

The appointee will report to the Principal Investigator and manage a cross-constituency initiative funded by one of the world’s top charity donors on advancing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in family services. 

 

Descriptions

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain close liaison with various parties, including the project funder, academic and research staff members of the project, government officials, community stakeholders and other supporting teams;

  • Manage the implementation and execution of various components of the family service project adopting ICT means;

  • Develop and implement project strategies;

  • Liaise with social service providers and technical professionals to develop a content management system and advance the use of ICT in family services;

  • Plan and oversee development of training materials for community stakeholders and public education;

  • Supervise and participate in research activities;

  • Supervise and manage project team members and take on other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field;

  • At least 8–10 years' professional and managerial experience in family services;

  • An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, and good computer literacy;

  • Strong motivation and sense of responsibility, and the ability to work proficiently with complete independence and under immense pressure;

  • Experience in developing and managing large scale innovative, multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral project initiative involving the use of ICT in delivery of social services, leading a large executive team (with not less than 15 team members) and working with a large number of NGOs/community partners specialized in family services are valuable assets.

 

Those with less qualification and/or work experience may be appointed as AAI/II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and interview(s).

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AR/AAI, and 10% of basic salary for AAII.  For AR, housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
