Applications are invited for appointment as Chief Student Advising Officer/Senior Student Advising Officer (holding the functional title of Career Development Advisor) in the Department of Law, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fractional fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

 

Applicants should have an LLB degree with at least 5 years’ post-qualification practice experience. The ideal candidate should have strong business acumen and be well versed in the latest talent acquisition and development practices, with keen interest in transferring their professional knowledge and experience to support our law students’ career development and employment preparation. He/She should have excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Extensive business and social networks, familiarity with the legal industry and profession in Hong Kong, and experience working with university students are distinct advantages. An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and good computer literacy are essential. The appointee will be responsible for coordinating career development programmes, and giving individual advice on career development and employment preparation to our law students. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for the rank of Chief Student Advising Officer, and 10% of basis salary for the rank of Senior Student Advising Officer.
