Medical Director, Pediatric ICU Mattel Children’s Hospital, UCLA


The Department of Pediatrics, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital seeks candidates for the post of Medical Director of the multi disciplinary PICU and transport at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital in the In-Residence (research) and Health Sciences tracks. The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ICU and medical transport service with particular attention to compliance, quality and patient safety. The role also encompasses interacting with hospital administration, providing leadership for the multidisciplinary staff, and responsibility for development and maintenance of policies and protocols. Other duties include patient care, teaching of fellows and residents, and participation in scholarly endeavors that will lead to academic promotion. Strong leadership skills, administrative experience especially in the areas of patient safety are desirable prerequisites. Candidates will be supported as needed in their academic endeavors. The applicant will have faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Academic rank and series will be commensurate with experience.


Candidates must hold a M.D. or equivalent degree, be eligible to work in the United States and licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine in California.
