JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Responsibilities

 

Plans and implements Family engagement events designed to facilitate relationship building and support opportunities, both in Gainesville and beyond. These Family engagement events include Family Preview (orientation), Fall and Spring Family Weekends, the New Student Convocation Family Reception, and the online Family Chat program.

 

Collaborates with the Director of Engagement and External Relations, including by helping to develop and update promotional materials for the Gator Too Membership program and by facilitating the program’s membership intake process. Helps the Director of Engagement and External Relations execute Legacy Pinning Ceremonies and National Gator Parent and Family Leadership Council board meetings.

 

Develops, produces, delivers, and manages communication plan pieces, including a monthly newsletter for all UF Family Members, an annual Family Calendar, various Family engagement social media accounts, and the Family email account. Conducts continuous outreach to parents and family members to ensure that all families feel welcome and connected to UF, from admission to graduation.

 

Develops and maintains a data base of family contacts. Provides timely responses, information, and support to family members.

 

Engages in strategic planning for family programs. Creates and updates assessment activities, websites, and technology related to family programs.

 

Manages the budget for family programming, including for Fall and Spring Family Weekends.

 

Participates in various Dean of Students Office programs, including Emergency Dean on Call and the Protest and Safety Team.

 

ADVERTISED SALARY:
$47,500.00 annually

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
Graduate or professional experience in student affairs, with significant experience in a program or service area.
Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience working with, new student programs
